If you're here because you searched "umingle girls app": there is no app, and there is no girl filter. Not for free, not for money. That's the short version. The long version is below, from an evening on the site on 24 August 2026.

Umingle and Uhmegle are the same site

Umingle started as a copy of Omegle right after Omegle closed. Back then it lived at uhmegle.com. At some point it moved to umingle.com, and today the "start chat" button on uhmegle.com just sends you over to umingle.com.

My guess is the move had two reasons: the old name was a bit too close to Omegle for comfort, and the move lined up with them starting to charge money. I can't confirm either, but the timing fits.

The text on the site reads like it was written by an AI. That doesn't affect the chat itself, but it's noticeable.

Is there a Umingle app?

No. There's no Android app, no iPhone app, nothing in any store. It's a website only.

That said, it works fine in a mobile browser. I didn't run into anything that broke or pushed me to install something.

Signing up asks for nothing. Not an email, not a phone number, not even a birthday. One button and you're in. The rules say you have to be 18, but nobody checks at the door.

There's both a text chat and a video chat.

What Premium costs and what you get

The upgrade is a lightning bolt button labeled "Upgrade to Premium". It gives you:

• instant skips
• "better matches"
• no ads

Notice what's not on that list: a gender filter. It doesn't exist on Umingle at any price. Country filter yes, gender no.

Why people get banned on Umingle

This is the part that surprised me most. Umingle has some of the strictest moderation I've seen on a random chat site, and it bans fast.

Some bans make sense. Some don't. An AI age check can ban you. Asking the person you're talking to "are you a girl?" can ban you. If a couple of people report you, you're gone, whether you did anything or not.

The ban is permanent. There's no appeal that I could find. What there is instead is an unban for $9.99.

So the honest advice is: don't ask about gender, don't do anything that could get reported, and if you get banned anyway, decide whether $9.99 is worth it to you.

What the crowd is actually like

Here's the flip side of the strict moderation: the site is cleaner than most. I didn't hit bots. I didn't hit spammers pushing links. NSFW was close to nonexistent.

And the male-to-female ratio was noticeably better than what I'm used to on random chat sites. My read is that the harsh moderation doesn't scare women off the way the usual free-for-all does.

There are a lot of people online. Matching was quick, nothing unusual in either direction.

About half of the people I got matched with were from the US, UK, or Western Europe, and about half from tier-3 countries.

Video quality is ordinary. Nothing bad, nothing special.
